From: Mike Kavanagh WSB Radio - The Elmo Ellis tribute broadcast which aired June 27th is now up on the web site for WSB Radio www.wsbradio.com Click on the left column under Listen - click on audio archives. Scroll down and you will see the show in the right hand column, click on the highlighted words "this show" and follow the instructions. If you have a popup blocker, you will need to disable it to listen to the show. It's a WSB Radio thing -- you want to listen to archives, you have to get an advertisement - that is how they pay for the large band-width costs. As the station's unofficial and independent historian, I am personally grateful to WSB Radio for making the show available on line and for allowing me to air the tribute on June 27th. Thanks to all who have written to me about the show and the several tribute features aired June 24 to June 27 on WSB.
By the way, as you visit the audio archives section of www.wsbradio.com you will notice some really neat things, including Larry Munson's daily commentary which airs daily at 4:55AM just in front of Atlanta's Morning News. You might miss it live, but you get to replay it anytime on your PC.
______________

I listened to it last night, and it was nicely done.

Great job, Mike. I always loved hearing Mr. Ellis' big, booming voice. It was pleasingly nostalgic to hear Aubrey Morris over the fifty-thousand watt "Voice of the South", again, as well as Clito, Georgia's greatest export, "Farmer" Mike McDougald. Get Mike to tell you about Paul Suvae and "Uncle" Bobby, sometime. Neither were in the same league as Elmo Ellis, but in their own way, they did contribute greatly to the development of that little two hundred-fifty watter that Mike got his auspicious start at.
______________
