Elvis Week

Gold Hits 920/WKVA will air an “Elvis Hits” weekend August 11 and 12, featuring 1 to 2 Elvis songs each hour. We will continue playing Elvis tunes in the Lost 45 feature through Friday, August 17.

Elvis Presley died on August 16, 1977. 2007, the 30th Anniversary, will be the largest celebration of all things Elvis. Online, at Graceland and around the world, projects that celebrate Elvis's legacy are being planned. Millions of Elvis fans will attend events and purchase product, and Elvis will be featured in non-stop news coverage and special programming on television, radio, in print and online.

This is a great sales opportunity and an attention-getter for our listeners. Some seldom-played Elvis songs will be featured, including key songs from the 50s.

We are also giving away some Elvis CDs (Elvis At The Movies & Elvis: Viva Las Vegas) to run in conjuction with a Elvis radio specials from Sony BMG. We're also hoping to partner with Hershey's to give away a bunch of their new Reece's Peanut Butter/Banana cups!

Is anyone else doing anything to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Elvis' passing?

Come of Memphis and I'll give you a personal tour. We have it all here. Just imagine, 60 and 70-year-old women bawling their eyes out at the gates of Graceland. There will be large crowds in Bluff City. ;)
