Emerging Ethnic [read "Spanish"] Identities

Mike Kinosian's column on www.insideradio.com today is titled, "Emerging Ethnic Identities — Davidson Media."

The opening story is about Davidson Media, which is concentrating on Hispanic formats, and it's followed by some interesting statistics on the growth of Spanish radio.

Go to the Insde Radio website and click on the link for the last captioned story. (If you're reading this next week or later, click on the "Inside Story" box with Mike's picture for links to the archived columns.)

This one is guaranteed to make a few of the regular posters here (especially O'Hara) launch into a tirade, but I think it's worth reading. And I'll be interested to see the reactions to this one from ALL the Philly Board regulars -- not just from the racist troglodytes.

Larger Hispanic population.
Advertisers want to reach Black and Hispanic markets.
Blacks and Hispanics still listen to radio.
Whites listen to satellite and Internet radio.
More radio bandwidth devoted to Black and Hispanic-targeted formats.
Do the math.
I can hear it now:
"Todas las noticias, toda la hora.
Nos das 22 minutos, nosotros te darás el mundo."
