EMF CEO Dick Jenkins steps down

From Hisair.net:

"EMF Broadcasting Networks Founder and CEO Dick Jenkins announced that he will be leaving the organization effective October 1, 2008. Mike Novak will take over Jenkins position. Jenkins was appointed CEO of EMF Broadcasting in September of 2007 after serving as president since 1986"

Is that the same Dick Jenkins that was said to have faked a heart attack during a pledge drive and then had to later apologize for it on air?

Same guy?

Surprised it took them so long to get around to firing him.

This is sad.

That guy didn't get fired. He got promoted. He moved from president to CEO.

Love them or hate them EMF is the most successfull christian broadcaster these days.

Is this actually true or not? Is there any information from a reliable source on this?

Sorry, I got that wrong. He apparently did exit completely from EMF. This is an interesting story. I wonder if it means they have over extended themselve and are now running into money problems. I thought he was the guy behind EMF.

I am a reliable source as i have volunteered on several of the pledge drives at EMF, and i was actually there when he had his health issues that day, it was quite scary. I also have personally spoke with dick jenkins on several occassions and he is truly one of the nicest and most compassionate people i have met. God is truly working in his life and anything he touches when it comes to business. Proof is in his work, look at what he did with EMF. One little station in santa rosa, ca. and now the largest christian radio network in the U.S., all under his leadership. Cant really bad mouth that, no matter what you say. I myself as well as several of my friends and co-workers cant wait to see what God uses him to bless next. It would be more than a Gift from God to have Dick Jenkins lead our ministry or any other. True man after Gods own heart.

What about Bob Anthony? He was the true founder of that 'little' station.

I understand in recent years he was not even allowed at the headquarters.
