Though it would be nice to see EMF open up an East-coast operation in Indianapolis, I think the chances of that happening are pretty slim. When they bought WGLM last year, the $1.2 million deal included the license, intellectual property, all the office furniture, studio equipment, and control of the rented office space & transmitter site once the sale finalized. More than likely, this is probably why they bought the property along with everything else. Afterall, Oasis won't need an office in Indianapolis anymore since KLU was a standalone.
If this deal is the same as it was for WGLM, EMF will probably make use of the space for a week as they strip everything out of the office and either move all the items they want to retain for future use out to their warehouse in Rocklin, CA or simply throw everything away. The latter was pretty much what happened at GLM since both the GM and myself spent two weeks moving or throwing out all the stuff that wasn't included in the sale, and they still made use of the Rumpkee dumpster.
As far as the GM and sales staffs being retained, that's not going to happen unfortunately. EMF has their own regional operations managers overseeing several stations and since the station will be non-commercial, a local sales staff won't be necessary. If they make use of the office, I can see perhaps a new local operations manager being housed there along with the public file. Otherwise, a main studio waiver will be filed to move it to Rocklin. The only person who may keep their job locally is the chief engineer.
Honestly, I hope the staff is retained with the sale and a new hub for the network is created, but I've only heard of one exception to them blowing everyone out...and that's when they purchased a non-commercial CCM station in Missouri about a year ago.
That being said, there's a very talented staff over at WKLU. I wish you all the very best.
