Emmis Cuts 7.5% Of Workforce

Allaccess.com is now reporting that Emmis is today cutting 7.5% of its workforce, amounting to 91 full-time and 14 part-time positions across its corporate, radio and publishing divisions.

Any word yet on any L.A. cuts?

With citadel stock down to a penny and clear channel etc tanking, will there be any jobs left in radio?
I was having that discussion with a workmate today, We talked of our issues with networking and considation. While not being anywhere near as bad as the US industry, Australia is heading that way. However, when the shakeout occours and the dust settles, I do believe that radio may actually turn full circle. Granted there will be less work, but companies the size of Clear Channel or Cumulus will be a thing of the past.

If there is anyone left with any money, they could pick up some good stations for a song.
