Emmis Terre Haute Loses To Midwest Communications!

Just in case you missed it on allaccess.com today...good or bad?

Frank Rush Named Brand Manager For WIBQ/WPRS

MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS News/Talk WIBQ/WPRS/TERRE HAUTE IN has tapped FRANK RUSH, formerly of EMMIS Country WTHI/TERRE HAUTE, IN, as their new Brand Manager. He will also take on the News Dir. for the six-station MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS/TERRE HAUTE cluster.

WIBQ still isn't serious about presenting the NEWS part of News/Talk. Not an unusual problem in news/talk these days, regrettably.

Frank Rush is a good radio pro, but does this really qualify as a "loss" for Emmis? IMO, Frank is a much stronger news guy than a "jock". He will do a really nice job with WIBQ, but this move gives Emmis and Hi-99 a fantastic opportunity to freshen up/upgrade their morning show before the fall book with a new co-host to go along side Hall Of Famer Barry Kent.

Nice hire Bill, but it might be a tad premature to post "Emmis Terre Haute Loses To Midwest Communications!". Remember, their two still outbills your six.

Bragging after the previous BM was only in for a month? Sounds like the Mismanagement Revolving door is picking up speed! I guess ANY PRESS is "good"

Could someone tell me what is a "Brand Manager?" What are typical duties of a Brand Manager?. Sounds to me like a title that does not pay much money.

I've never heard of a single station cluster having a brand manager, but companies like Cumulus use them like consultants for formats.

Am I confused or wasn't Robb Reel their new brand manager?
