The Emmy nominations were released today. Leading the pack is the HBO movie "Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee" with 17 nominations. "The Sopranos" were next with 15 with nominations to James Gandolfini, Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Aida Turturro and Michael Imperioli.

The surprise for me is that "D**k In A Box" from SNL was nominated for best original song-music and lyrics.

I have never heard of Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee before.

Anyone remember the old CableACE Awards? With the growing number of cable entrants, that's what this list is starting to look like.

They should have kept the CableACE awards, as they were really a voice for shows and channels that would get squeezed out of the Emmys (and don't have a chance for the light of day now).

Should there be separate Emmy categories for cable and broadcast programs/actors? Yeah, I know, the Emmys are bursting at the seams for categories now...
