End of Energy Day

REV has more pop/rock.
Andy Grammer, The Script, Matt Nathanson, Lady Antebellum.
They also play a few more gold category songs than NOW.
NOW is closer in sound to KYLD.

Hmmm, maybe I need to listen closer. Mostly I tune over there when both the others are in a stopset, and I usually hear a song one or the other just played.

I'm in Boston and found Fernando and Greg's podcasts after Energy went off. It sounded like a fantastic station. I stream them now on 99.7 but have the feeling I would've liked Energy much better

I never understood why the new owner chose to drop the Energy format. The station had a fiercely loyal niche audience that supported advertisers. And with 92.7's limited signal, this was a perfect audience and strategy for that stick. Why was he not interested in continuing that route instead of going into a format that the limited signal cannot compete in. Just seems dumb from a business standpoint.

Your far from the first person to make that observation. Pretty much everybody who knows the license has spotted that as well.

The new owner was sure he could quintuple the ratings (to 3.0) with a mainstream CHR format. He did not know about Movin'/Now's plans, and did not understand the Bay Area demographics real well.

Also not the owner himself, but someone near and dear to him had issues with certain aspects of Energy's business... gave that person the creeps. So mainstream CHR it is.

Homophobia wrecks a business plan, eh?
