End of P&K????

I read about the P&K being gone from KLLI a few weeks ago here on this board.....listened-in out of curiousity....heard them of 105.3 like normal.........and wonder what the deal is?

Since Jagger has been out of town and today is his first day back... Sam mentioned BDH coming up after Jagger and Jagger inquired as to why P&K were still on vacation and everyone else on the show danced around it and the subject was quickly changed.

The other day BDH was talking with some comedian about getting a radio show.  I don't remember the exact conversation, but BDH was saying that the comedian in question should get a show, and then get a bunch of endorsements, that way no matter what happened he would "never go away."  Which would seem to imply that P&K is being kept around in name only, for the sake of endorsement contracts.

It should also be noted that Pugs no longer appears to be the co-host with BDH of the MMA show on the weekend.

If thats the case, I would like to personally thank whomever is in charge these days at KLLI and buy em a beer...

Random Phones on Jagger today, two people called in asking where P&K were, and they wouldn't touch the questions with a 10 foot pole, not even Gavin. They really owe the listening audience an explanation, or they are going to start losing that audience. :-\

I have been thinking about it and talking to some radio people and I think one of 3 things have happened.

1. They have been suspended for a violation either company or FCC.

2. They are having issues with renewing their contracts and are currently in talks.

3. They are waiting out their contracts that are due to expire soon.

Again, this is my opinion and observation and could hold little to no truth.

Personally I don't think that the station owes the listeners an explanation. If it IS either disciplinary or contractual, that would be between the station and the "talent". My own feelings are that BDH is a breath of fresh air anyway.

Granted they don't need to give us all the gory details, however a common courtesy would be to tell us "Due to reasons we are not at liberty to disclose, the Pugs and Kelly show will no longer be heard on 105.3." Instead they string us along, avoiding the issue, and in a sense make the situation worse.

Sounds like a rather fatalistic attitude. Recently frustrated John?

See that's the same thing people were complaining about during the Greggo situation.

The stations don't owe you anything. If they aren't discussing the situation, then there's likely legal issues, or some other ordeal that potentially involves lawyers.

I heard that Pugs had his vocal cords scraped off and powerwashed, and he sounds like a human now...and it ruined the most special dynamic of the show. ::)

Ya know, EVERYTHING runs its course eventually...even if it takes 3 or 4 years afterwards to finally realize it.

Then again, has anyone checked the lineup at KRLD lately? Spit might have moved them over there.
