End of the line for music

This really caught my eye this week. Corrupted President George W. Bush signed into law a dumb bill that targets piracy and that includes music

http://www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSTRE49C7EI20081013

You want to see an industry hurt? How about the stupid corporate labels signing fake talents. <that's hurting everyone right now.

How about the politicians getting freebies from the corrupted labels? That's a smack in the you know what.

It is the end of the line for music as we know it. No more freedom of downloading and such. Corrupted Labels and Movie Companies should be held liable for marketing crappy material to the public on top of that.

Goodbye Freedom!!!

I completely agree with almost everything you're saying, however I must say, for what it's worth down the line, I'm glad this bill was signed. I'm kinda sick of music sales being killed and I KNOW that piracy is a peace of the pie, so anything that targets it is fine with me at this point, this crap has been going on for long enough now. It's one of the few smart things Bush has done if you ask me, but I just hope some good comes out of it, time will tell...

When I saw the title being posted here, I was like...OH NO! Not for OUR music.

But reading onward, yeah....piracy has to be tackled and I FAVOR this bill. One may see it as "greed" on behalf of the recording industry but down the road, it's the artists getting hurt and I want nothing more than to see every aspect of music do well. That can be said for ANY genre of contemporary music, not just dance.

The bottom line, the people's pockets will dictate what is good and what is crap.

Well as long as they start making Dance available on CD and make Maxi Singles again with lots of remixes,, as well as legal downloads of all the remixes.... I just hope it does hurt Youtube videos.
