ENDING: Charlie and Steve Morning Simulcast

From State College.... .... ........ ..

In the next few weeks WFBG morning show which is simulcast on a Huntingdon station is ending. Nevermore is pulling the plug on that simulcast and will replace it with a simulcast from State College. Charlie and Steve never really took off in Huntingdon. And the not so “dynamic duo” lost significant numbers in Altoona according to one business that was given ratings numbers from the last Arbitron book. This is good news for the people here in State College.
Radio revenues are down even more so far this quarter. See Radio Info post this weekend.
Cutbacks appear inevitable.

This is just another indication that there is, indeed, A God. I think they might have been "beamed" into Huntingdon initially because of the large number of inmates in the state slammer and Forever's thinking may have been "at least we've finally come up with a captive audience" for Fric and Frat.

It's over. The Huntingdon simulcast for Charlie and Steve is done. It ended last week. The new simulcast is now out of State College. The Altoona morning show didn't work in Huntingdon and I'm told this is the second arbitron book where the FBG morning audience has seen a significant drop. Steve (Frank Weyandt) dreams of having a talk show on several stations has ended. Mornings at FBG may go back to a syndicated show. Less cost, less issues. More audience?

Frantic Frankie's dreams of working for a chain ended when he quit his job at Arbys on West Plank Road, Altoona. His idea of a segue was "dine in or take out".

Curley fries with that order?

I hear they are dancing in the streets in Huntingdon.

Do you serve Curley fries or straight fries on your frywagon?

No, I use real Idaho potatos (have them shipped in by refrigerated truck and sometimes rail car) and run them through a potato slicer mounted on a wooden board. I stick the whole potato into the top half, pull down the lever, and the potato gets cut into individual pieces in the shape of frieds and they comes \out down the bottom. I then dump a load of those pieces into peanut or canola oil that is boiling in one of my three fryers. That's about the way it works. I change grease as often as Clark changes the grease in his hair.

I'm getting really hungry. I'm really disappointed that I didn't make it to the Clearfield Fair this year.

Congratulations to Caleb James--based on the recent book, it appears that his new Mix Morning show dominated some other long time (including FM) morning shows.

Have you ever looked at FBG web page? It appears they are doing the butt slide. Or are they just making up. No, maybe it's their male bonding dance. Arms folded, a little Russion accent too.
