Ending of B94 the 1st time

I remember B94 ending the first time on June 30, 2004. What time was it exactly? I remember it was the morning. Last song? Also, what were K-Rock's first and last songs?

The last song on B 94 the first time was Move This from Technotronic. the first song on K Rock was for those about to rock from AC/DC. I'm not sure what the last song played on K Rock was.

The big three. What were you doing when Kennedy was shot. What were you doing when the World Trade Center was brought down and what were you doing when B94 ended. It truly was traumatic for you wasn't it?

I just happened to be taking my mother's minivan into the dealers to get repaired when I was scanning the dial and came across John, Dave, Bubba, Shelly end the first incarnation of the station. As I recall, the night jock gave hints something was going to happen the next morning and the morning crew would only say to stay tuned to find out what is to happen with the station. And after their emotional goodbye, there was some static and a few moments later I heard Howard Stern as he announced that 93.7 in Pittsburgh and some other CBS stations across the US were going to pick up his show in the markets Clear Channel dumped him. They ended the show with him that day and I think there was a few weeks he was off the air until he was brought on permanently. Well, until he announced that he was going to Sirius!

Oddly enough, I happened to be scanning through the dials again in 2007 when Opie and Anthony show ended for the day and then a commercial began which asked "What's Missing in Pitts-urgh" followed by continuous Christmas music.

Coincidence I happened to tune in to the end of formats of 93.7 or is it something else? :D

PittsburghKid: Do you take requests? There are a couple of stations I'd like you to listen to. :)

Certainty pman44! That's why they call me the "Grim-Listener" because when I'm listening to a radio station that is struggling to get ratings, they know the time has come to finally give up on their failed format and transition into something else. ;D

Well, it's irrelevant because B94 is going to return after they learn The Fan flopped.

Just like Jamin 104.7 came back a month after the format switch because News Talk 104.7 was such a disaster. ::)

I seem to recall it being like 8:00 a.m. when Howard came on and K-Rock started. I must say I was a converted X listener for the most part during the K-Rock days. Then, sadly it became the Man Station. I was still living in Cranberry Twp. when it flipped back to "B" again, but had moved to eastern PA when The Fan started and everyone was told to go to Star.

Thank you, Stage.

And to be honest, I don't like sarcasm much. But I will never forget the woman who came on here two weeks after 104.7 went to talk, and was setting records for listenership for a new talk station in the process.

She came on here with "inside information" that the station was going to change back to Jamin' Jo in a month because 104.7 was such a disaster.

Sometimes the left wing is tragically entertaining.

Pratt, take a chill pill, I think you misunderstood my comment. I was merely making a sarcastic joke to Pman44 that I just have been able to tune in at the right time to hear station flip formats. It was a sarcastic silly joke, nothing more. I do not have any influence, insider information, predictions, psychic ability, opinions, left-wing conspiracy theories, as to why a station was flipping nor did I think a station was ever to flip back. I would also like to state that I really don't care as to why the stations flip or what they were flipping too. For goodness sake, its only radio broadcasting and this is only a Internet message board to discuss radio broadcasting.

I was in Virginia when WPNT became WLTJ and I am still upset I missed it

WEEP become WYRE and I cried for days. WMCK became WPQR and that was really ugly

I am still waiting for The X to become The Force again.

And the day they took away "House of Hair" from this town for the likes of John McIntyre must go down in history as a day as terrible as Dec. 31, 1972 and the '36 flood.
