Does anyone know how well 102.9 did, as a dance format in Fort Wayne. As I recall it was basically a jukebox, of Classic Early nineties House Music, certainly a bit unusual of a dance format, even for Indiana. Did it ever make a dent in the Fort Wayne Market? Im guessing no, the stick was too far away. Arent they still simulcasting the Modern rocker on the freq?

WEXI had nada in the Fort Wayne book during that time, if I recall. They probably would have done better if the format was better put together, the liners weren't so overmodulated, and other minor things here and there.

After dance, Kovas bought 102.9 and 103.9, moved the WXKE calls from 103.9 and they began simulcasting X 102.3. Then, they ran Westwood One's adult standards format as "The River" (now on 1250 WGL). Currently, 102.9 is a Jack clone known as "Mike-FM."
