Energy 87.9 (Ran By a JERK)

Really nice way to treat the only one fan you actually (HAD) that was the first and only person outside Twin Cities who (USED) to tune in to ya.. You cant ignore me forever... Pulse is a Bigger station with a much bigger international fan base, and with way better DJs and you know it.

Dude, what are you talking about? I am one of the people that runs Energy, and I never ignored you.

I don't know why you think I'm a jerk, but I agree with Nick, posts like this accomplish nothing for either station. I'm sorry that you left with a bad taste in your mouth, but I'm by no means a "jerk". As a matter of fact, I tried to help you start your own station using our host, and you didn't follow our host's terms of service so you were banned.

Appreciate the support, but you're also not our only fan, nor our only true fan. Beyond that, I certianly wish you the best of luck in whatever station you run in the future.

Dude, if that's your station's positioning statement, then you're having problems.

And "You can't ignore me forever..." shows an unhealthy obsession.

Just Keep Going

I had to change the subject title line.

To that, and I have to say it, Nick is absolutely RIGHT.

Fighting amongst ourselves holds us back, which makes it worse for us because our music really needs all of the outlets out there. You don't have to like a certain station anymore but to come off the way you did with the name-calling was out of line.

I have to say this and with that I'm also calling myself out too based on the past....the biggest problem with passion is that it overwhelms one emotionally whereas your judgment is totally clouded from trying to see the other side of things. There have been MANY people along my journey as a dance music activist where I've seen this firsthand and that in itself makes what I am doing, running the coalition, very difficult.

It even caught me recently as another station grabbed a couple of folks that followed or helped me on my show. What do I do? Keep going and not to look back. I was angry and upset at things...sure. But the best thing one can do is keep going and to realize your own personal missions, whatever they may be. I can't be consumed with negativity because, aside from being unhealthy, it takes off the focus and clouds judgment because you let the passion overwhelm you. I do what I do and stay away from what I think is holding me back.

MWC, just keep going. First and foremost this is about our music. Do what you have to do for your station. If someone messes with you (and for the record I'm saying this about ANYONE, not accusing or singling anyone out) just let them loose and just keep going. You can be mad "under your tongue" but no need to call it out here, or call anyone names.

Just sayin'

Your absolutely right Toney.. I dont know what possed me to make such a post really. It was in bad taste and made me look like the bad guy.. Let me explain a bit.. The op of Energy 87.9 Who still shall remaine nameless as he is kinda a private person was once a friend of mine, But lately after being listed on Itunes it seems he has always ignored me and quickly went offline whenever I would ask him a question,, which was maybe once every 3 months,,,, It disheartened my spirits,, I already feel like the outcast in the dance communinty despite my efforts to act profesional,, get the station legally licensed for webcasting,, turn the FM off and so fourth.. It was like 5 or 6 AM before Id had any coffee and I was kinda in a grumpy mood,, but what I didnt consider was that maybe Energy opp isnt in a talkative mood either.. I dont want to screw around and get banned from the board or kicked out the coalition like one of my DJs did,,,before I was legal,, when it was still Mystery Radio. I did Appologize to the Op on facebook.

That's good that you've apologized. Now, keep going :)

See, this is another problem, that some people act all high and mighty. Just because you're on iTunes doesn't mean you're better than anyone. If this guy was arrogant to me, I'd ignore it. Yes, it is wack this happened, but all I gotta say is we had someone did this to us and where did that go?

Playing devils advocate, we don't know the entire story so let's not get critical on the "other side" too.

This whole thread is ridiculous..It makes Mid West look like a child..it makes the peace makers look odd....Too many personal agendas on the dance boards...Most threads used to be about new dance songs or radio stations..Now it seems like the threads are filled with" Hey check out my station" or "this coalation" ect...lets try to keep this board about dance radio..cause I hate to say it but if I was a non-dance fan I would read this board and think most of the participants were children. I mean no disrespect to anyone here...I'm just telling you what I feel reading a lot of the posts lately esp this thread.

Unfortunately, I've been misjudged. Yes, its true that we are on iTunes. And honestly, thats not a big deal to me or to our station. I've brought on some people to help me with day to day operations, because my day job is taking up alot of time, and they felt that it was the right move to take. By no means do I think I'm better than ANYONE else, and yes, I am a pretty private person (although not as private as I was in my LPFM days). Each dance station, whether big or small, brings something different to the table. I (we) are a small operator, looking to expand our reaches, but I will always acknowledge that we are a small player in a big pool.

I didn't intentionally ignore MWC, but rather I don't use Facebook chat because I think it's buggy, so I'm not on their hardly at all (and half the time when I am listed as being on there, I'm not actively looking at it). I did see that MWC occasionally contacted me through this method, but by the time I noticed, nearly every time) he had already signed off.

MWC, I'm happy to help when I have time, but maybe email is a better way to communicate with me, so I can do it when I have a spare minute. Thats not to say I'm better than you, just to say that I'm a very busy person with a sporadic schedule, because I have my hands in alot more than just radio.

Stupid Misjudement

Im very sorry dude,, Just so You know,, if you could do me a favor get ahold of the nice fella at Liquid Radio and tell him im sorry for letting that chick ruin our friendship. I talk to ya more on Email.. BTW My posts are not the opinions of other Pulse Staff.. Im not the only person at the station,,, and I give full credit to DJ KDM and DJ Perry, for their contributions,, honestly they do most the programing,, while the broadcast is done from my place.. I never have and never will tell them what to play and not play.. It just has to be DMCA compliant,, no farther rules after that.

I was holding off for a while on this thread. I wrote "nevamind". But I have to say something. And from my end, no disrespect.

Let's face the reality, deep down we ALL have an "agenda". And while for some it is "self-serving", for others it is strictly about the music and hearing more of it on the radio. To that, yes my coalition DOES have an agenda, guilty as charged. Simply put it's about the music, hearing it on the radio and perhaps changing OUR perspective regarding the music for the "positive". It was never about "Tony Santiago" here.

I've always said if this became too much for me and the coalition causes more harm than good, then I'd walk away with no regrets because I certainly don't want our music to suffer. But I do agree that "name calling" and "negativity" have NO place in here. But if we're going to get "critical" on the coalition then realize, it IS about dance music on the radio and having more stations cover it. That's my agenda. Not about me.

It is not run by a Jerk as Senator Kirk "The Jerk" Watson doesn't own any shares to that particular station ;D and it it is not under Sunset by the Texas Sunset Commission. ::)

I wish you guys would chill on this thread and let it get burried.. I really regret posting it and dont want this thread to keep being in the spotlight... Thnks.
