Energy 927 Phoenix

I haven't been on the boards or keeping up with other markets in a while, so I am alittle late here.  But reading some posts turns out that Energy 927 is gone????  That is horrible !!!  I hope SAN Fran Energy 92.7 stays in tack !

But I am confused with the station now.  So 92.7 and 99.3 is THE BEAT....which is what the website states.  Why isn't 101.1 on the website?  What format is 101.1 ? The Beat?  and what about the Flagstaff station 106.3/93.5? The Beat?

and Wikipedia states that since Mega 104.3 can cover PHX that the 99.3 translator has gone to THE BEAT.  But if you look at the Maps on Radio-locator it doesn't cover the market.  And that NRJ has a CP to have the same coverage area as 104.3.

I'm confused here !

HELP !

The Beat is classic hip-hop.

101.1 is not prominently mentioned in the marketing of the station - but it is the originating signal for the Beat. (It legally has to be - all of the other signals are translators and they are not allowed to originate their own programming.) The 92.7 & 99.3 translators, while very low-powered, are located in the Phoenix metro. The 101.1 signal, while powerful, is located in Payson, AZ, which is about 80-90 miles away from Phoenix.

There are sweepers that say "East side representin' on 101.1", which presumably means that reception in the Eastern part of the metro is served better by 101.1 than 92.7/99.3.

93.5 in Flagstaff is carrying the Beat. The 106.3 translator moved to 93.5 when Energy was still around. (I'm not sure exactly when or why this happened.)

99.3 seems weaker than it used to be, so I'm not sure how important it was to have it teamed up with 104.3 (KAJM).

If the Beat is around through the 101.1 (KNRJ) signal upgrade, then perhaps 101.1 will become more important in the station's marketing. But I don't know when that upgrade is supposed to occur.

That helps alot, I hadn't listened to it yet. Do they metion it alot about 101.1? And why not at least have 101.1 listed on the website? I know about the translators law that why I was wondering about why no metion of the parent station 101.1

92.7 and 99.3 The Beat, East Valley Representin' 101.1

This (or something similar) is what I tend to hear a lot. The r dub slow jams and dedications does sound more appropriate on this station than it did on 1047 KissFm.

99.3 doesn't seem to be all that it could be yet. It doesn't sound as clear as a signal usually is, although it is better than using 92.7 where I am. 99.3 has a bit of a mono sound to it.
