It was sunday morning when I heard this I think. I heard the E-98 sweepers and the listening room was on and I heard Mikeo talking,,,, the employees seemed to enjoy the music,,,,, I told the cashier I liked their music, and she then smiled and said,,,, yeah son, that station is on the web, its an FM station in Chicago,, without being rude and correcting her I just nodded and smiled....

I was back at super dollar today and it was smooth jazz instead..... yuck,,, go back to Energy 98....

I remember when the 7-eleven in Belmar played 96.7 Party, and down the boardwalk, a few other places had the stream running. Well, gotta wait until next summer for most of these places to open, so I can let them know about Blazin.

Across the street from my old apartment, there was a trendy clothing boutique that literally blasted Energy 98. You could hear it on the sidewalk outside.

;D :-*

Back when Pulse 87 was on the air, I heard it being played in a few places around New York City. If it was a restaurant, I always gave a huge tip in the tip jar and mentioned that it was because they played 87.7, plus I called up the station and had them give the store a shoutout, effectively giving the store free advertising.

In the summer of 2008, I was in eastern Long Island and a pizza restaurant was playing Party 105. I heard Ercola ft Daniella - Every Word for the first time ever in that store because Party 105 was playing it.

The best part of having a dance station on the radio is walking into a store and hearing a dance song in the middle of the day when you least expect it.

You mean last week? LOL

.
Really? You heard a New York City radio station at a few places in New York City. How does that compare to an internet-only station being played at a store in BFE Virginia?

Actually, almost all the clothing stores you walk into in Manhattan play Dance music. That's always been the case.

Nick, Pulse was great, but you really missed the point of this post. Energy 98.1 is alive and well and has fans everywhere - out of all the stations they could have picked from the net, this store in Hillsville decided to air Energy 98.1. This is how you get a real movement going, at the grass roots level. When everyday people in middle America become interested, on their own, in Dance music and Dance radio, that is a very encouraging sign.

Energy 98 is my favorite dance station, it has the perfect sound. And the other 181.fm stations are also very well programmed.
