May be rumor, but according to Energy, something big is supposed to happen on Monday morning. No confirmation to the fact of a format change though, as I was told not to invest too much in that rumor. Ya never know.

The something big I heard is Pistol Pete coming back and the semi-change in format is supposed to be some spanish dance mixed in to the rest of the dance music. Like the new club 95

How about Mega 104.3 fm moving there 104.3 transmitter closer to the valley and keeping there format and handing 99.3 and there whopping 8 more watts and a more centrally located transmitter over to Energy! Energy coming off a mountain in north central phoenix at 18 Watts might be a better sell than there current 10 watt south mountain stick.

It really is no wonder that the ratings are never there due to the crap signal. That being said, they are doing the best with what they have, but still - considering the success of the format in SF and the kick ass beats they put out, it's too bad EAZ didn't have a better chance to perform on the big stage.

I agree that adding Latino will do ZERO to their listenership - tweaking is not what is needed - some actually ENERGY put into the station and some real serious power increase/relocation.

How many people does Mega/Energy employ out of curiosity?

Last time I saw the 99.3 translator it had a 100 watt PA, 3 way splitter with each output driving a 5 element Scala yagi. The real ERP in each direction is about 200 watts. No one cares about this or the so called 10 watt 92.7. The user group found a 200 watt PA there not long ago -- had it removed, but given the signal I would guess it is back. The owners of these translators ARE paid to run them -- again the FCC simply has no resources to monitor this stuff or apparently does not care. They are more interested in "potty mouth" issues.
