Energy & Cow FM

Can anyone tell me the call letters for a station (i think it was in Rochelle) which was an all dance format after Energy went off the air.

They even had a website & I think it was called "Cow FM", this was around 2003-2004 from memory.

Does anyone have info on this?

Yes, you're probably thinking of "Party 103.1", WYXX Morris. When HBC purchased "Viva 103.1" from Big City Radio, they bought the intellectual property of the station as well as the WXXY 103.1 Highland Park signal, but had no interest in the Morris-licensed 103.1.

I believe it was programmed by the ex-PD of Energy 92.7 & 5, and was pretty much all automated with liners poking fun at the station's very rural location. The format was on the air until the station was sold for peanuts (since it was downgraded at one point by BCR in order to upgrade the Highland Park signal) to WCSJ, and it became WCSJ-FM.

Click airchecks. A HYSTERICAL aircheck from that station is on that page.
