Energy-Onix ECO-6, Need Part

I am looking for the input choke for the HV power supply on an ECO-6 FM transmitter. This is L1 on the schematic, it is about 70 pounds and I think it is rated at 10henry at 1.4 amps and around 5kv insulation. If anyone has one sitting around that you would sell please contact me here or via my e-mail robert2 at bellsouth.net

Thanks

Maybe ahead to call Energy-Onix....

Then there is also Harbach (http://pwdahl.com/):

Is this it?

ENERGY-ONIX P/N 376-013

CORE) A-0518/
C-CORE STYLE #) 10 HIPERSIL C-CORE

That is the part. I have checked with Harbach. About 5 week delevery time. Hoping to find a used one somewhere, if I cant find one this week I will get one ordered.

A lot of towns have electric motor repair companies. I've found that some of these can also rewind or repair chokes and transformers. Typically, it's done in a couple of days for less than the cost of a new one. Of course, calling Energy-Onix would be a reasonable way to possibly get the proper replacement quickly.

I haven't checked with any of the motor shops. I will give that a try. I did call E-O they didnt have one in stock and I thought the price was kinda high.  3 x the price Harbach quoted. We are still on the air with power reduced just a little. If we were off I wouldnt be taking the time to check on rebuilding and used parts. I was lucky and had an old choke that would work to get back on. It is to big to mount in the cabinet so it is just sitting in the floor. Building has DANGER H V Signs on it. It is locked and on the inside are more signs and the area around the xmtr is roped off with Yellow caution tape. I also have the only key. I know that isnt safe but i tried to be as safe as I could

Have you tried setting it on a phone book (insulating it from ground) as a temporary repair?
2 by 4 works as well if phone books are obsolete there. I've seen chokes sit on 2x4's and run for 25 years (darn cheapskate owners).

I may try the phonebook or 2x4. The choke was VERY hot and had the building smoked up. Transmitter was still on and all readings were normal. Only problem they were having was an occasional main or plate breaker trip. Management had been sending someone out to reset the breaker until it would trip about every 30 minutes. That is when I was called.
I put a megger on the choke and at 1000 volts its restance to ground was over 1000 meg. I suspect it was arcing inside at the 5kv that was normally on it. If this is the case then the phone book may fix it.
Thanks for the Idea. i have done this on a mod transformer years ago. I just didnt think about it this time.
