engineer Mike on wcbsfm

What happened to CBS-FM's audio? :mad: All the new studio's and expensive equipment and it sounds terrible. At least Mike had it sounding like a FM station should using whatever audio processor he put in or tweaked. I hear AM's that sound better then them now. Sorry I can't listen anymore. It's bad enough the signal is horrible and taken over by B-101 in central and somerset county and south on, now the audio is too. With Mike gone they need to hire somone that knows audio processing so the oldies can be heard the way they were recorded. :eek:
 
Ah, so we should switch cbs fm to am and move newsradio 880 to fm...?

What I hear, the audio on the live audiostream is not changed yet. Maybe you can listen online for a better audio quality.

So with Mike's departure, does that mean CBS has lost some of its "manhood", so to speak? ???

WCBS-FM has that classic sound because of Mike Errickon. And we at WIBBAGE FM @94.3
Atlantic City are deeply indebted to Mike for his wonderful and professional help with our
airchain. Mike is a once in a lifetime professional who knows what he's listening to, knows what
it should sound like, and will stop at nothing to achieve that perfect blend.

Mike spent the better part of three very long Sunday evenings at the WIBBAGE Master Control
and transmitter locations, and built the stations sound into a giant. CBS's loss is Wheatstones
gain. Knowing that Mike will CE for Wheatstone dramatically increases Wheatstones' stock value.
No audio engineer I've ever worked with in 42 years comes close to the ear that Mike has,
and a big heart to go along with it. But beyond his ear, he is a "cause and effect" engineer, technically
saavy at the component and schematic level.. and beyond.

Thanks Mike, Steph and Kyle for imparting your wisdom and willingness to help when our audio chain
needed it most. Mike Errickson reaffirms the commitment by a handful of excellent, once-in-a-lifetime
engineers who maximize the technologies. As important as that is, I am privileged to know Mike as
a close personal friend.

Kind words about Mike. What's Wibbage FM using for soundprocessing? And is it also online? I hear the stream at the moment and it sounding a little bit out of phase.
 
The WIBG stream is next on the block! I have people who are going to help with some of the audio sources to help further clean up the air and stream audio.

Right now I'm off to DC for NAB! :)
