Engineer Needed in South Carolina

An engineer is needed in the Greenwood/Greenville/Anderson, South Carolina area. The previous one, a retired man, has bailed because the station will not run the format he likes.

Why did he bail? He says, "At my age, I don't need to do anything and if it isn't fun, I don't want to do it" He doesn't want to do anything but Music of Your Life and refuses to accept that there's a big difference in the MOYL/Paid Time that used to be on Atlanta's 1160 and this station.

With that being said, this is somewhat of a unique situation. If you're in the area or know someone that is, *PLEASE* email me offlist and I'll share more of the details privately.

Thanks!

Perhaps at his age, he figures it just ain't worth it to maintain a TX site only to broadcast what he feels is "crap". At his age, he's earned the right to feel that way. He's paid his dues... and probably was just in it because he loves radio. If you've ever been in Engineering, you will understand that the transmitters and equipment you maintain tend to become like your "children". I'm pretty sure there must be lots of contract engineers in the area who wouldn't mind having another contract on their books. Most of these guys will just make the rounds objectively without worrying what is coming into the TX.

Alan:

I agree that he's "paid his dues" and earned that right to feel this way.

However, his idea of "if you don't do MOYL, I won't help" was something that was NEVER nrought up in the 4 to 5 months previously in discussion about this project. He only brought it up a month away from project time. Something he had in mind all along, butneglected to mention. Had that been the case, the people involved would've been looking for someone months ago who'd help them that wasn't dependent on format.

And yes, there will be others who want to assist. I've found one guy, but he's only very PT due to distance.

Thanks!
