ENGINEERING CASUALTIES AT CC STATIONS?

With all the visibility that the ClearChannel layoffs and sell-offs have been getting lately, I've been curious if Engineering departments have seen any thinning. Radio industry sites seem to be mostly programming-oriented when it comes to relaying news of this sort.

ClearChannel doesn't have any presence in my area, but I wonder to what effect this might have on the engineering job market as a whole, if say for example, there were suddenly a glut of seasoned asst. engineers looking for work, or if further consolidation within some of these small markets might eliminate some CE positions (or at least a few contract gigs).

The chief at their Rochester, NY cluster was let go several weeks ago along with a third of their news department a talk show producer and a long-time sales manager who'd been with the stations for more than 25 years.

Was he the top dog of the department? CC has some rather odd terminology when it comes to Engineering job titles... As opposed to having a "Chief Engineer" and "Assistant Chief Engineer(s)", they use the terms "Market Director of Engineering" and "Chief Engineer(s)" respectively.
