Engineering opening

Who left the engineering world at the Jersey shore? A recent ad in Radio World has an openibng for a CE to take care of SEVEN FM's and TWO AM's.

I would guess it's for Equity..Didn't Mike Ferriola (sp) become an owner recently? If I were in Mikes shoes, I'd drop the Equity gig like a bad habit. When I worked there, he was a really nice guy but always looked like he needed a week long snooze.

He probably looked tired as a result of too many 6am weekend phone calls from me when I worked at MTR. ;D

"Mike, the computer just froze up, the transmitter shut off, the game feed isn't working, the Bridgewater station is off the air...."

Seriously, Mike is a great guy. Good luck with the new adventure, Mike.

Actually I think I need about a decade to catch up on what I missed! LOL

I know I would lose sleep over the WCMC transmiter site at 10th st in North Wildwood. LOL Hey Mike, make sure you leave the chest high waders and the tide chart for the next guy. Snorkling lessons would be good too.

Not to be a nitpicker, BUT:

1) the WCMC transmitter is on West 19th Avenue
2) it doesn't flood there
3) Mike didn't take care of that site, someone else does

Okay I was wrong on the street number but you're are wrong on the transmitter NOT flooding. It's in the swamp..the meadows or whatever NON nitpicking word you would like to use..... And unless things have changed, an army of engineers have experienced "camp swampy"... Whether dropping off transmitter parts or just lending a helping hand.. Carl Owen, Rich Arsenault (sp), Terry Dalton from Delaware, Ray Bradley and if I'm not mistaken, the ultra famous Tom McNally has had the pleasure of wcmcs transmitter site.
I remember when high tide arrived the ground water table would rise and a 6o hertz hum would creep into the signal, water level drop, so did the hum. The phone to transmitter connections were underground and water intrusion occured twice daily. Strange, the things you remember about a station. Anyway, I guess I was wrong. I thought Mike Ferriola was the engineer of record for Equity Comm. Sorry Brother Zack!

Ultra Famous ? Wow !

Yeah I helped out there a few times over the years, you are right, the
old telephone cable to the studio was interesting. The phone company
way back when just put in a 25 pair cable between the studio and
transmitter, and basically gave it to the station. When one pair would
go bad, Carl would just pick another one.

It's on an STL now, so the audio doesn't hum. It looks like the floor
was raised in the little building years ago, so I don't think the transmitter
gets wet.

Terry Dalton takes care of it now, he did a nice rebuild job on the building
and antenna a few years ago.
