Enough with the infomercials!

Can't find Nutri-Fry at Walmart, Target, Marshall's, Ross, or DD's Discounts or a knock off there of.

None on E-bay either.
But it would be nice to use one again.
IonLife ran a short-form commercial the other day for a similar product. I think it was a brand name, but not Nutri-Fry.
I remember they said "You can fry a batch of fries with only 2 tsp of oil!"
So the idea is still out there.

George Foreman Grill - Originally sold on TV in infomercials or commercials, now also sold on QVC and at stores.

My daughter bought me a Foreman Grill for Christmas. Gotta say, it's a fantastic little gadget.
Easy to clean, and it drains a lot more grease out of the burgers. Goes from solid frozen patty
to bun in about 7 minutes.

The Foreman Grill appears to be one of those very few gadgets advertised via infomercials that actually works as advertised. And, of course, how could anyone not like the pitchman?

Totally different that "Gadget" you mentioned costs too much to only be able to cook 1 very small batch of french fries.

Sorry. Just trying to help ya. Didn't know what price range you were looking into. Mea culpa.

The problem is bad at tv, but even worse at radio. I listened today to a top of the hour ID for KBOI Boise, a 50K torch that can be heard almost anywhere within 500 miles of Boise. The legal was Boise's "Legendary radio station, home to the Boise State Bronocs." Only to be followed by a ridicululous informercial. Kind of a disconnnect there. Perhaps you guys might want to do an alternate ID when going into these informercials. Really. It is that embarrassing.

And every infomercial that is on the radio is for Purity Products!

What garbage. I remember one of those was for a product that guarenteed that you'd live to be 150 years old.

When I was a board op at WNTY in Connecticut I always had to keep a CD of a Purity Products show ready to air at a moment's notice in case the satellite crashed - which it did often. When WNTY first went talk they carried programming from The USA Radio Network. That network always had so many technical problems. It wasn't a problem on WNTY's end either because they were also affiliated with The Business Talk Radio Network and they didn't have any problems with BTR.

And don't forget Homer Simpson's quote: "Oooh, a program-length commercial!" ;D (from the Simpsons Season 2 episode "Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment"--the "stealing cable" episode).

"But, Dad, what about tractor pulls? Atlanta Braves baseball? Joe Franklin?!" :D

Operation Smile. I've seen their commercials on KIRO (rarely) and KCPQ (once).

"Didn't Linen's and Things close up shop everywhere?"

I think so; they certainly did around here, anyways. We have a similar chain called "Bed, Bath and Beyond" that carries much (all?) of the same merchandise. I think some of the Linens & Things properties were converted to these after they went out of business. I've exhausted many extraordinarily boring afternoons there with Grandma, who has to scrutinise and inspect practically every single item in the store, which was time that I could have been spending on more productive and worthwile things elsewhere (like courier stuff or motocross....or my job.)

"I can't find Nutri-Fry at Wal-Mart, Target, Marshall's, Ross, or DD's Discounts or a knock-off thereof. None on E-bay either. But it would be nice to use one again."

I don't believe it was actually called "Nutri-Fry", but it looks (and I assume works) almost exactly like it, even with that raised "vent" thing in the middle. Except this one has a long handle permanently mounted on one side, like a regular frying pan, in addition to the small handle at the other end. The original one has two small handles on both ends, like a roasting pan, and a removable long handle.

They probably didn't sell very well, which may be why they're hard to find now. But keep watching E-Bay; one'll probably show up at some point.
