This affects KGON-FM Portland Oregon and their broadcast rights to the Waterfront Blues Festival.
Entercom and KGON-FM/Portland, OR, ink a multi-year agreement with The Waterfront Blues Festival. Highlights of the partnership include the return of the festival to its original radio broadcast partner and the switch of KGON-HD2 station to Waterfront Blues Radio, streaming blues music all day. The station will be the exclusive radio partner of the largest citywide event in Portland, taking place July 4-7 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. This year's event will mark the 31st anniversary of the festival and will feature more than 120 performances on four stages.
"As the leaders in live, local audio content, we are excited to partner once again with The Waterfront Blues Festival and bring blues music fans one of the most anticipated events of the year," says Entercom Portland Senior VP/Market Manager Bill Ashenden. "With such a wide range of performances, there is something for everyone to jam out to."
As part of the partnership, KGON is re-launching its HD2 station as an all blues station. Prior to the festival, the station will be conducting ticket giveaways for the event. During the festival, the station will live stream content from the event, such as performances and celebrity guest interviews. Tickets for the 2018 Waterfront Blues Festival will go on-sale to the general public on Thursday, March 15.
