Entercom/ Big O looking for a producer

They let Brett go allegedly due to financial tough times...is this to replace his slot now or replace the other guy (Andy)?

>>(Heslam, Herald): "Erickson’s exit from the afternoon-drive show follows the Patriots’ monumental loss to the Jets — a big damper on ad revenue ..That leaves the “Big Show” with producer Andy Massaua, who was slapped with a one-week suspension last February for sending vulgar text messages to the Sports Hub.

Did Andy jump to 98.5?

I just listened to Friday's whiner line on the web site and Andy was definitely there. What makes you think he left?

Well, they're filling a job and supp. let Brett go because of the bottom line, so I thought (only a theory, and far fetched) that maybe they were replacing Andy as well. Why tell people they got rid of Brett due to slow ad sales, etc. then go around and advertise for a new producer? Unless they want someone at a smaller salary..? or who knows

After reading the Herald article from the previous thread, it doesn't say they let Brett go for financial reasons. Heslam's comment/assumption doesn't even make sense in the context of the article as the Pats loss doesn't seem like the impetus to release a producer on the station that doesn't even carry the team!?!

My guess, he was let go for cause and they're replacing him.

Their Patriots programming is a pre and post game show of WEEIs own creation, along with Brady and Bill interviews in AM and PM Drive..given that CBS has almost 10 hours of programming on 98.5 how much of a financial drain could the Patriots season ending actually be?

The Patriots loss in a playoff game causing WEEI to lay off a producer didn't sound feasible at all, to me. They lost in the first round last year too. I don't think Jessica Heslam knows what she's talking about. Look at all the other sports "catastrophies" we've had over the years. I don't recall any radio stations going out of business because of any of them.

I don't really know too much about the inner workings, but don't they have any in-house candidates for this? I would think that this is a step up for weekenders or fill-ins.
