Entercom Indianapolis...

Well, it's starting to look like my prediction will soon be true. Jenny Skjodt will be let go by June 1st of this year. Word on the street is that she is spending too much time micro-managing and turning the new office into a spa rather than an office. I was the first to come out and voice my opinion that I thought she was quite possibly the worst hire for the GM position at Entercom. She will once again be relieved of her position. She has the exit strategy down to an art by now. Have they turned it around? Yes, but that was more programming. We can only hope that Mrs. Skjodt doesn't try and take credit for that...:) Aside from her own inexperience and shortcomings it sounds alot like she isn't the one calling the shots. You guessed it. Ms. Reyburn. AKA-Death on Earth. I worked with both these women and I'm utterly amazed that any company would hire these two head cases. You know it's bad when Ms. Reyburn is sending out emails in regards to her accomplishments to other radio stations/reps. I guess it gives her some self worth. Quite possibly the rudest and most annoying person in radio but nonetheless the last person to fall on the sword. She takes credit for anything she can. :( For those of you at Entercom. Rest assured, better days will be here soon!

From the subject line I thought at first that this thread was going to be about the job posting today for an afternoon STAR on ZPL.

Those 2 are the WORST Managers I have even encountered in the radio business.

Entercom is a better company than to have allowed the Indy cluster to be ruined by them.

I heard rumors that Dave Decker (who's been there for as long as I can remember) was let go. Guess it was true. No idea why any sane person would do that since he was truly a smart, dedicated worker. But then again from what I can see the management there isn't exactly sane. It's a shame.

Has anybody commented on these boards about how many people have been let go from the Indy cluster since Skjodt arrived and how many people from Susquehanna she's brought in?

Dave was let go and Hunter has been taken off the air to focus on imaging only. Expect a new hire for the 2p-7p slot. While things are changing....can we just cancel Iverson's show too. Thanks

Has anyone noticed the direction that WZPL has taken since the new pd arrived. I'm not sure of his background, but IMO, he's destroying a once great radio station. He's changing the line-up every 2 weeks and playing the same songs over and over. What ever happened to stability and variety?

Somehow I doubt anyone will be re-hired for that time slot since they took both of them off. I feel like it'll be a replay of Kelly McKay. If they can "save money" they'll just get someone syndicated on (even if the listeners hate it like Iverson).

Stability is NOT one of the Jenny Skjodt traits in any part of the business. More of revolving door. The new pd may have executed the changes, but these are right out of the JS playbook. It's not about looking at what works and improving, training or growing, but rather removing it and replacing it with what has been done where she was in the past.

Well it's about time she gets put out of the business for good

Jenny Skjodt took a critical thinking test and her rank was right below a mountain goat (keeping living off that Skjodt Simon connection), brain cells not that abundant in that head, she probably still is making her sales staff go out and see if they can get Yugo ads that is how behind the times she is, someone also tell her the Victoria Principle haircut of the 80s is now out of style.....Also please note that Reyburn was going to take the same critical thinking test but they could not get her out of the bottle of formaldehyde...how is a person is in charge of Digital Media that still thinks the kids today are playing Atari's Pong is beyond anyone's imagination. Entercom corporate should be ashamed of its cluster in Indianapolis. Believe us all when we say Entercom is not even bought up in conversations when talking about local media...that is a FACT!!!!

I'm not sure exactly how she could get hired in another cluster with her total lack of understanding of anything technology based. The digital world is every changing and if you're not moving along with it and creating unique ideas, you're left in the dust.

Do you think this was the same when say Hoover was there or has it just happened within the Skjodt reign?

Jenny and Charlie Skjodt will be cleaning the Simon's home on weekends to make ends meet once she gets the axe. I'm starting to think that Ms. Reyburn has some dirt on Mrs. Skjodt. I've seen 4 year olds throw tantrums and get their way, but this relationship between Ms. Reyburn and Mrs. Skjodt is hilarious/dangerous at best. Jenny needs to resign and just let the ancient artifact run the show. She's doing it now anyway. Trust me when I say this, Entercom Corporate is aware of more than you know. They understand all about the mass hires/fires that have occurred since Jenny took the helm. Let's be real. Jenny should be selling billboards and Julie by law should be checking into a nursing home very soon. I challenge anyone to post experience/qualities/success stories/ that relate to these two has beens....(Can't be related to past experience with Charlie Morgan.) He let them play on a winning team. They didn't change the outcome. Doyle knows what's going on and ultimately he will make the right move. No other Entercom branches are having these issues and he is certainly aware of that. They will fix it. 0 chance for success with Laurel and Hardy steering the ship. Bank on that..

Wrangler you sound like you've been burned by the pair a time or two. Is this current info, speculation or just wishful thinking?

Cheers2you, I'm lucky enough to say that I am among a group of about 500 people in the Indy radio market that have not been burned by these two ladies. No burned bridges here! May just be dumb luck. :) Also, what I speak of comes from a VERY reliable source. I don't personally have ill feelings toward these two I just find it humorous that they are in control of a radio station. Like I stated before, Entercom Corporate is aware and they will fix the situation. Way too many smart people at Entercom to allow this to continue. We all make bad hires. BTW, I was informed that Jenny and Julie have been best friends for about 30 years so after some quick math I have calculated that they first met when Julie was 55 years old. Had to throw that in there....:)

Ha! Paper Bill checking in from his new gig in Orlando. How are things down there in the Bible Belt? Just because she didn't agree with you that a format of all Swing Out Sister music would sell, there's no need to wish ill will.
