Mr. Downes, I'd like to start off by saying that I admire your bravery for posting your name on this link. The courage that demonstrates speaks volume. Listen up Columbo, I have posted in this forum quite often but it's nice to see that your "digging" up of information validates the fact that this is a new account. Way to put that "mining" degree to work. I understand that you haven't worked with these two ladies in a long time and what YOU need to understand is that people do change throughout this journey called life. I can only hope that they are not the same people today as they were when you had the "privilege" to work with them.
I have already stated that my issue is not with Entercom or with Corporate. I have alot of respect for MANY people within that organization. My issue is with Jenny and Julie. I've never swayed from that...On a different note I found amusement in your "digs" at sales people. Seeing as the majority of your career has been spent in the IT field I find it amusing that you make the comment "poor salespeople". Your an IT guy who would have problems selling Pete Rose an invitiaion into Cooperstown. Let me clarify a few more things. I am not an ageist. I was merely making a point that the only reason Ms. Reyburn wasn't in the HAPPY HOOSIER RETIREMENT HOME was because Jenny brought her to Entercom. She is far from qualified to be a DSM nonetheless understand the complexity of a television remote control. I understand your coming up on the big 50 but don't take it so personally. Age is only a number UNLESS you treat your entire staff like last week's leftovers. I am NOT a disgruntled employee. I hope that good people stay with Entercom and I hope that NEW good people join Entercom. Only one problem Larry "my boy", it's not going to happen if Jenny and Julie are calling the shots. If ANYONE in Corporate at Entercom makes an inquiry within the staff they will clearly understand what is transpiring and without a doubt I'm sure things will not remain the same. Stay tuned. This is going to be a 'WHOPPER" of a week.
**CORRECTED Misspellings Thank you Drucifer for pointing them out.
It would appear you have misunderstood me. Neither this post nor those previous are an attempt to defend the current management at Entercom Indianapolis. As I said, I do not work there. I don't know how the current management operates the stations. What I do know is that you can often get insight into a person's character by considering those who attack them. When the detractors are moral cowards that sling character assassinations while hiding behind the safety of a keyboard and a veil of anonymity, I have to admit that those being attacked, at the very least, make the
right enemies.
I'm not defending Mrs. Skjodt or Ms. Reyburn. I don't work there. However, it is interesting that their detractors accuse them of treating others with disrespect and dismissiveness, yet when someone who says they do work at Entercom comes to their defense, their opinion is summarily dismissed. Why, because they are only a "part timer". Or they are treated with disrespect because one of the anonymous detractors thinks that the anonymous employee may be misrepresenting themselves. Mr. Pot may I introduce you to Ms. Kettle?
While I admit they are my friends, I am not defending Jenny or Julie. I have no idea what their management style is today. But Mr. (or Ms.) radiowrangler, you should be very happy that congress passed the unemployment insurance extension, because if your research talent & ability is representative of your talent and work skills, you will need all 154 weeks of it. I gave you my full name and a chronological list the companies I've worked with for the past 21 years and you still, Got. It. Wrong.
The degree is in Geological Engineering not Mining. I was on-air for 13 years. The past 15 years I've been working in NTR & digital marketing operations and sales management. True, I did manage the corporate IT department at Regent, but my primary responsibility was leading interactive operations and sales for the company. By the way, I made no "digs" at sales people, only the whiny, entitled ones. I have great respect for the good ones.
I'm not defending anyone's management style or actions. But, those that have nothing better to do but hide behind a pseudonym while gleeful waiting for their enemies to get their comeuppance at the hands of some powerful person or entity are small, pathetic and insignificant.
P.S. While some may need to learn to spell "gem", others might want to look up the definition of a paragraph. Glass houses and all that.
