Entercom Indianapolis...

All Access has on it's job board that Entercom has a Director of Sales opening, with openings in the Sales department. Has this thread caused a house cleaning?

It was publicized that Erika Will [GSM] was let go in this week's Indiana Radiowatch. So consider this rumor confirmed I guess. So who's minding the store??

From what I understand, she was not "Let go" She was fed up and quit

That's what I was told too (from several different people). I think she's been feeling this way for months, but finally got to the end of the rope.

Has anyone heard anything about Dave Decker lately? I figured he'd be right back on somewhere. Then again maybe there's a 6 month non-compete? Just know he has a young kid and just had a baby not too long ago. Plus I figured someone with his talent and experience would be snatched up already.

Just saw this article on IBJ about social media and digital marketing.

Find it hilarious that the average age of the Digital managers is about 32. How old is Reyburn again?

On a seperate note, did anyone else hear Dennis Miller drop the S-bomb yesterday on WXNT?
Sometimes age and treachery will overcome youth and exuberance. I understand Entercom led the market in digital billing in March.

Agreed Harry. But what about sheer knowledge and involvement? I guess that's what underlings are for.

That's amazing about the billing, but then again it could be like 2010 when a big chunk of on-air billing was redistributed into digital and sales people were forced to take their focus off of on-air as the main source of revenue.

Half price certificate deals can do that for you.

There's NO WAY they are making all that revenue off of the horrible deals they usually have. Maybe 1/4 of it, but not the majority. I'm thinking they have to have some pretty big annual deals going somewhere.

For all of the Ecom-bashing that's gone on here for 16+ pages, no one has given these folks any credit for the advances they've made in the ratings. NTR and ZPL, 4.8 and 4.6, and more than 700,000 cume weekly; that's a damn good job by the imported ATL PD. ;)

Let's see. Looking at this, objectively, WZPL FROM FEB 2011 4.7 329,700 TO MAR 2011 4.6 327,500 is not, in my opinion, a damn good job.

WNTR FROM FEB 2011 5.2 377,100 TO MAR 2011 4.8 397,900 is also not, in my opinion, a damn good job. What criteria, in your opinion, justifies a damn good job? The Titanic?

Advances in the ratings??? Am I missing something?

Entercom did get some good news. On the AM band. WXNT 0.5 33,700 0.9 38,100

Touche Drew - I stand corrected in terms of a lack of station growth.

However, I still stand on my opinion that these stations actually are performing fairly consistently, and far better than what most on the board here actually give them any credit for.

In my previous post, I noted Q at their lowest ratings levels in maybe decades, yet no one has noted, much less pounded on the continuing failure here - no one at Fall Creek is doing for Q what Entercom's ATL import has managed to do on North Meridian - stop the hemorraging, and stabalize the product.

The fact that you guys judge how a station is doing based on 12+ numbers, shows your ignorance. Not one dollar is spent in radio based on 12+. Never has been never will be.

WZPL has gone from 6th to 2nd in 25-54F over the past 6 months.

You guys are idiots. In fact, it's insulting to idiots to call you idiots.

Mr obvious here.....I have no horse in this race. Just be clear though. Are you an employee of Entercom?

And everyone here knows that. If you'd be willing to risk your cushy sales managerial job and post the full book, the board would be happy to provide accurate analysis.

It would be an insult to priests everywhere to call you holier-than-thou. :D

Thank God I'm retired... How would you like to work for a Prince like this?

Obviously not everyone on this board knows it. I'm simply pointing out that the moron above is justifying his opinion of the Entercom properties based on 12+. That makes him/her an idiot. Why sugarcoat it?
