Entercom is Killing KOIT Softly?

Is Entercom trying to kill KOIT?

I've been listening to KOIT for the past few weeks and they had a lot of newer songs.... Sadly, a lot of them were not that good. The mix and variety is not that good anymore.... To a point that it is slowly becoming un-listenable.

I am surprised that I am still find the Saturday edition of Love Song After Dark somewhat listenable.

Am I the only one who is feeling this way? or Is Entercom trying to kill KOIT? :'(

Please don't tell me eventually, they'll try to kill KDFC too...... That would make the radio in the entire SF Markey... Un-Listenable....

Of course Entercom is changing 'em. They need to put their stamp on these stations. Look what happened with MAX FM.
They will fiddle with the music on KOIT, but get ready for KDFC to evolve into ..... (Do you see it coming?!!)

are you ready......

Yes, KIFR - I'm sure Entercom is thinking - we need to kill the second most successful classical music station in America that has the format all to itself with no competition and consistently rates in the top 5 in the Bay Area - so we can put in a Top 40 station whose play list will overlap with at least a half dozen other low rated stations in the market, and will be lucky to rate in the top 15 after a couple of years. AND in a market in which top 40 stations have consistently tanked over the last 20+ years

Great idea.

As for the music mix on KOIT - I know they've been doing a vote for the music thing on their website like KFRC, but I haven't noticed much difference...I'll have to start paying more attention.

Additionally, the Field family (Entercom's primary shareholders and officers) are huge supporters of classical music and are no doubt proud to own such a heritage station in the market.

Yes, with the KOIT changes, I've now moved the KOIT button next to the KFRC button. Not the most favorite position on the dial but a lot of similarity, go figure. Eagles, Elton & Journey!
