Entercom to Buy KUFX/ San Jose from Aloha Trust

According to a Sharks/KUFX press release issued last March, the deal between the team and the station is "multi-year":

http://sharks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=522276

"Multi-year" could mean two years, ten years or a hundred. (I didn't see the length of the contract mentioned in the article, but I didn't read it that closely.)

That tells me that Entercom gets the Sharks contract for at least one more year, unless they've got a buy-out or an opt-out clause.

I am thinking that KLOS's Mark and Brian were happy to hear about this.

...Because?

how would there be a format change, this move means everything will probably stay the same, just new owners

Well their on Entercom's 96.9 in Sacto, I don't know why Entercom would get rid of Greg Kiln though

You're right. Greg Kiln really cooks. He heats things up in the morning.

in the past when i Posted, It does not make sense when Clear Channel Vs Clear Channel - 98.5 Vs 103.7. Two stations playing the same format, same music, except different radio host. The best way is one of those station change radio format..... Entercom will.... just speculating at this point.

Maybe The Band should flip to country as 103.7 The Bull and 95.7 and 98.5 simulcast the caassic rock format, rebranding themselfs as "The Eagle"

Mark and Brian syndicated out of KLOS are on Entercom's Portland Classic Rock station, KGON and Entercom's Sacramento Classic Rock station, KSEG. San Jose December PPM for KUFX mornings is #13 behind San Francisco stations KQED, KFOG, KOIT, KNBR, KYLD, KGO and KCBS.

I could also see them trying a 98.5 simulcast. 98 Rock in Sac does really well in the ratings, and that's a format hole in the Bay Area.
