Entercome buys 15 stations (Atlanta, Miami, SD, Denver; Lincoln Fin.)

The last of the big insurance companies leaves radio. At one time, quite a few owned stations including Nationwide and National Life.

They've been on the market for a few years, so no big surprise. These are all well-run stations, and Entercom is a pretty good operator.

It'll be interesting to see what Entercom will do with the Denver stations. Any guesses or speculation as to which FM will be spun off in the Mile High City?

A news item on InsideRadio either yesterday or the day before said Entercom intends to deal KKFN 104.3 in Denver.

And it (Along with KEPN-AM 1600 (NBC Sports Radio) will likely go to Mile High Sports (Who has a pair of networked translators on 94.1 & 94.9 simulcasting their main broadcast on KQKS 107.5 HD2) either lock, stock & barrel or as part of some fancy deal

The comedy translator at 103.1 could also be made part of the deal (Especially if Entercomm decides it doesn't want it and/or the comedy format)

Mile High Sports once ran KCKK on Full powered (Such as it is) AM 1510 & translator FM 93.7 (Which some - Including me - Has a MUCH stronger than AM 1510 & in some ways rivals that of ESPN 102.3 at times) before the station was kicked off by the current owners of AM 1510/FM 93.7 in favor of some hybrid Soft Rock / Classic Rock combo format (Don't get me started on what I think of that  )

The next likely candidate would be Front Range Sports - Owner of ESPN 102.3/105.5 (But I wouldn't count on it though)

JMO.....

Cheers & 73 :)
