Entercome changes in Dallas, something similar in Houston?

Entercom already has Mega 101. Are the DFW changes relevant to it?
Probably not. It's two different formats in two different markets.

Having said that, KLOL is the lowest rated 6+ commercial station out of the MoCity tower farm. They probably do better with Hispanics 25-54. How much better? I'm not sure. My guess is Entercom is comfortable with how it is billing, so there's no need to mess with it at the moment.

Maybe Mexican Regional for KLOL is the future....

KLOL sells against 18-49, not 25-54. That's what all Spanish language stations do because the community is younger.

In that demo, they are always Top 10 and are pretty much always the #2 Spanish language station. Because of the CHUrban format, hey also have less duplication with KLTN than four of the other significant stations in the market which are regional.

And I believe they will be in the top 5 or 6 in 18-49 in the February book. They are a very solid biller.

I could see a total format flip in Dallas as that station is consistently beaten by two of the UVN stations.

Not really something to brag about when you consider there are only 11 commercial stations coming out of the Missouri City antenna farm. Outside of KLTN, the rest of the dial is full of signal-challenged stations that don't cover the market all too well.

But if they bill well, then who cares? (certainly not their clients)

They made changes to La Grande 107.5 in Dallas. They added Piolin from 12-4. Erazno from 12 and on.

A flip to another spanish-language format or something else entirely?
It depends on how they see the market revenue for Hispanic targeted stations and the potential for a format hole in English.

There are only a couple of viable Spanish language formats in the Southwest with the dominant ones today being "core Mexican personality", Regional Mexican and the equivalent of CHUrban based on reggaetón & friends.

There is a niche for a music format based on older music, but that yields older demos. Since Hispanic buys are 18-49, that is not a successful commercially in many cases.

Another change at Entercom Houston today:

Unlike other markets, Mix and The Spot seemed to be doing well.
