Entercom's Channel Q

I am old enough to remember when 94.1 was 94Q (WQXI FM Smyrna). I bet some folks will really be surprised when they tune in thinking they will hear the best of Gary Mckee

Entercom seems to be committed to Channel Q. It's been rolling out in medium to large markets, so it's just a matter of time before it arrives in Atlanta. It looks like it has about 40 affiliates including a regular FM station in Palm Springs, a regular AM station in San Francisco and an FM translator in Seattle.

Just a reminder that Channel Q is the FM subchannel that has talk shows on weekdays, with dance music nights and weekends. Meanwhile iHeart has Pride Radio, which is also being rolled out in medium to large markets. That one is all dance music with some voice-traced DJs who comment on LGBTQ issues between the songs.

At one time, these services might have avoided a deep South or Bible Belt market like Atlanta. But I don't think that's an issue now. I see that 96.7 WRDG and 105.7 WRDA both have Pride Radio on an HD subchannel in the Atlanta market.

Yes there HD2 channel is down as well. Either they killed it off to make way for the Channel Q OR engineers got lazy and haven't fixed it. But I'm going to take the latter.
