Sidenote:
Mr. Carter, it would be helpful if you could keep your rhetoric down. You appear
to have an agenda.

How do I have an agenda? Ive agreed with YOU a few times, Ive also stated that I am black yet I do agree that the best person should get the job ALWAYS but I know that doesn't always happen. I have also stated over and over that RKO has the right to hire whoever they want based on who they're trying to appeal to and that the only responsibility that they have is to the company and the stock holders to make money for them, not to make society a better place. .

I just speak from the other side of the table; being a minority who has had a high profile position or two in radio and I know how I got there and what happened when I did. Dont confuse my being animated and I admit opinionated with having an agenda

Nik, I've heard you a few times on the air but I never even knew you were a 'minority' until it was brought up here.

Talking about hiring more minorities or women (or whatever) at a station ...

Here's a question: let's say a station offered you a job as an on-air personality, and they told you it was because you fit a certain profile of which they needed more. Obviously, in a real world, we'd all like to be hired solely on merit, but would it affect your decision to accept the position?

Really Infadel I cannot even a muster realistic (response because no station even an urban one speaking to me as a black man would be dumb enough to say something like that. However if playing devil's advocate) someone did say it? then i would have to say no, I would not take it, becauuse the truth is that if that is the hiring process then you could easily be replaced by someone of an even more minor, or well proncouned minority sttatus, say an asian, lesbian, woman,.......in which case given your scenario I would probably be out the door..lol..no in all seriousness I would say no, because they have basically told you you're not here to be taken seriously, you're here so that the PC police will stay off of our back. In truth that has been hinted to me in certain scenarios and I said no. but to be honest two were television, and one was a station that was a mom and pop radio operation that i had no real interest in anyway.

Make sense?.
