In Glens Falls, Eric Straus is exiting the radio scene with a $2.75 million sale of the three radio stations his RegionalHelpWanted.com (Regional Radio Group) owns there. The new owner at WWSC (1450 Glens Falls), WCKM (98.5 Lake George) and WCQL (95.9 Queensbury) is Clayton Ashworth, who's acquiring the stations under the "Northway Broadcasting" name. Sound familiar? That's the same operating name Ashworth used more than a decade ago when he owned crosstown WBZA and WMJR.


Anyone care to guess what changes will be made?? I believe Clay Ashworth is the current GM so he knows whats going on. Care to wager a bet that the CKM morning club gets taken off for something thats listenable???

Here come the "good ole days". Drunk GM grabbing a little tail with every sale,trades out the house(HIS house) while the staff is paid hourly.
They don't call him Clay As--ole for nothing!
 
No changes. Except perhaps a parade of pretty young sales ladies getting hired then quitting.
 
Seems to me they may be traded out already...at least from ckm's standpoint......any one know to what degree thay are traded out?? Sure fire recipe for disaster; buying your own pizza and wings would be cheaper in the long run...wonder where ashworth got the $$$$$$$$$$$$????????????

WCKM-An "Oldies"? station that is actually even worse than WTRY...and thats saying something...WCQL has become such a joke that it isn't even worth mentioning...
 
DJ Croaker- dave, what changes to u see coming?? Is Kip still going to have his show sat am?? What about the morninhg club, staying/ going??? Need to know....will be listening!!

by the way ..your mom,s washing machine stopped.but you already know that because you live in her basement...dinner is ready honey!!!
 
I looked at the new website; says its the regional radio group, Clay Ashworth , Pres. Looks like the old staff is still pretty much in place; will report on whether the morning club has gotten any better. I'll be in the area next weekend, and yes I'll be listening saturday am and pm, always good programming in those 2 slots!!!

Anyone have anything else to add????
