Environmentalists demand ouster of $$$$$$ conservative WGBH trustee

(Since it covers WGBH radio as well as TV):
http://bostonherald.com/news_opinio...sts_put_heat_on_gbh_to_oust_donor_board_giant

>>Angry environmental activists say they have more than 70,000 signatures and plan to flood a WGBH trustees meeting next week calling for the ouster of conservative lightning-rod billionaire David Koch from the board — but the public TV and radio station for now is standing by the longtime PBS mega-donor.

(The group claims Koch misleads the public on 'climate change'. The Romney fundraiser has donated a mere $18.6 million
to 'GBH since 1982. Picket signs being readied...)

...a Facebook group called Save Eric in the Evening is pushing the rally, etc. with the expected "boo hiss Republican tea party" type of responses. Hey, people like Nova but we can't have conservatives funding it now, can we? :)

If Koch had been accused of murder, child abuse, terrorism, or other heinous criminal acts, the activists would be on to something.

But if Koch, besides his donations, has an active interest in 'GBH (i.e. watches a lot of PBS/listens a lot to NPR, or has experience of some kind in the radio/TV industry), then he should stay, regardless of his political stance.

This seems to me to be another attempt by the Far Left to damage the Koch family's reputation. And if George Soros were on the 'GBH board (I don't think he is), then you'd see conservative activists urging his ouster, too.

Heaven forbid that PBS' (and NPR's) urbane, open-minded audience recognize, let alone respect, that there may be points of view other than their venerable liberal dogma. To these sophisticates, conservatives have no right to exist, let alone have a public broadcast network funded in part by taxpayers of all political viewpoints actually have anything to do with them.

I suppose if you're that insecure in your own beliefs you can't tolerate divergent opinions that may confuse you. It's far less headache-inducing to just stick with the right-think with which you were indoctrinated back in the '60's and '70's.
