Episode titles on network TV shows

Why is the name of an episode of a TV show never displayed at the beginning of the show? For example, on Antenna TV tonight, from 7-8 PM EST were reruns of The Hogan Family (aka Valerie). The shows were from Season 1, episode 1 and 2, with the episode named as Old Enough and The Six, respectively. But the show (and nearly all others on any network) never list the names of the episodes. The only show I can ever remember listing the episode names was Dick Van Dyke.
