Equipment Needed, Please......

I am starting a little home studio up to do, among other things, audio work for my church. I am interested in buying a good board at a reasonable price (Mackey, Gates, whatever), 3 or 4 studio mics/stands/cables, etc, and what ever else might be of use. Also, if anyone has a copy of Cool Edit Pro or Pro Tools they might want to let go of, that would be nice, too. Oh, and a good, inexpensive desk top PC with some gigs and a good sound card. Can you help? I would appreciate it very much......Thanks, folks.

Try EBAY. Get a small Mackie 1202 or 1404 board...a couple of CAD M179 mics...a PreSonus Firestudio interface...some good hadphones ( Sony MDR 7505 or 7509)...and a couple of monitor speakers and you'll be set up real fine for under $1000 or so.
Go online to Dell and get a new or refurb computer with as much RAM as you can afford. Anything MORE than 2 gb. Don't forget to buy a stand alone hard drive for backup.

Good advice! One consideration these days would be to get a USB board like an Alesis or Allen and Heath. With the audio going into the computer as digital you'll have less interface issues and the audio will be excellent!
