EQX 80 Degrees of the 80s

WEQX, normally an excellent alternative rock station on any given day, is really doing a great weekend of music to celebrate the temp hitting 80 in their area. Choice cuts from Joe Jackson, Faith No More, U2's version of "dancing barefoot", The Smiths, etc etc. Worth a listen, and blends well with good new tracks.

I seem to remember EQX briefly dipping into a bit more of the nu-metal stuff but unlike most of their alt rock brethren, got back on track with a true modern rock sound. Kudos to the entire staff on this weekend's music.

Being a NJ resident I miss those weekends (they were "retro rock') that we used to have here in the Garden State on the now defunct WHTG....(truly, one of the best stations anywhere...before they put a crappy new "all over the place" format on it...) consider yourself lucky...I will be sure to try and stream EQX...now that I know there is another station that is doing 80's new wave alternative on occasion. It's a shame that living near such a mecca like NY we have the crappiest radio in the Garden state ....there is truly nothing to listen to.
