Eric Jackson passed away this morning. Longtime jazz host at WGBH-FM Boston as well as WILD; WBCN; Harvard's WHRB and Boston University's WTBU and WBUR
I never met Eric in person, but we exchanged a emails when I was trying to learn the ropes in jazz radio. I recall he was very disappointed when WGBH moved his jazz program off the M-F schedule.
He will be inducted posthumously into the Mass. Broadcasters Hall of Fame on Thursday (it had been announced he was among the inductees earlier this year)
Found out via tweets that referred to his family on Facebook confirming the news of his death.
