Eric Johnson Out at 97.5 The Fanatic (WPEN)?

From All Access:

Eric Johnson Exits WPEN (97.5 The Fanatic)/Philadelphia
ALL ACCESS hears that BEASLEY Sports WPEN (97.5 THE FANATIC) and Sports WTEL-A (610 SPORTS)/PHILADELPHIA Dir./Sports Content ERIC JOHNSON has exited the stations. JOHNSON posted his departure from the stations on FACEBOOK MONDAY (11/26); BEASLEY confirmed his departure to ALL ACCESS.
JOHNSON joined the stations in 2017 after 18 years as PD at TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Talk WKXW (NEW JERSEY 101.5)/TRENTON, and previously worked at WIP-A. WPLY (Y100), and WSNI (SUNNY 104.5)/PHILADELPHIA and WAEB-F (LASER 104.1)/ALLENTOWN, PA.
JOHNSON told ALL ACCESS, "it was great to be part of the team to improve FANATIC ratings the past 2 years! I wish all my former co-workers nothing but the best going forward. I've been at this radio game for 41 years and have met many talented people along the way -- and will always be grateful for that. Now I have a little time to enjoy the holidays and decide what to do next!
"Thanks to BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP for giving me the opportunity to help grow 97.5 THE FANATIC’s ratings by 32% in prime, 43% in AM drive, 31% midday and 27% afternoons year to year men 25-54. Looking forward to the holiday season to re-set and I’m optimistic about life’s next chapter!"

Merely a cynical thought or two, if I may ....

WPEN : Upward trend, to a 3.0. Johnson had them climbing
WIP : Upward trend, to an 8.2

Format change, or $$$ ? Both, perhaps with the New Year 30 days' off.

Fine career for you there, Eric. Best in 2020.
