Erie Lackawanna

I have a question for you as you would know better than anyone. Exactly how is this statement accurate? This is the last sentence of the press release announcing the launch of Coast 93.1.

"Portland Radio Group, the largest radio operator in Maine, is Coast 93.1, Newsradio 560 WGAN, Today’s Country 101.9 WPOR, Oldies 100.9 WYNZ, Imus in the Morning 970 WZAN, and Music of Your Life 1400/1490 The Bay."

OP1 - beats the hell out of me. i sure didn't write it. but it has
been very widely discussed on other broadcast newsgroups. seems like
the radio-info gang is a bit slow on the uptake. ;-)

maybe it's total wattage? or the most letters per slogan per signal?

or if you add up all the frequencies... it's a really big number, thanks to
the upper end am signals. (that 2890 is hard to beat all by itself)

or maybe it's a flashback to the giant boombox that YNZ used to have.
maybe THAT'S what they were aimin' for...?

otherwise, as argytunes would be sure to agree, i'm clueless.

and thanks to my omnicient powers, i do indeed know many things.

care to ask about the hot, juicy gossip at Citadel? inquiring minds
want to know just WHOM is driving The Blimp nowadays. and we'll than-Q
for asking.

or how about poor old Frank. hear tell he's off the wagon. again. turns
out he thought he was going to work IN Nassau... not FOR Nassau. ouch.

Argytunes is just as 'clueless' on this question as you are, Erie!

But this was one of the reasons I asked who ORIGINALLY wrote up the press release? It sounded like "Cary copy" after I read it a few times.

Thanks Erie. I have to tell you that I am some what stunned by a number of things here.

1. That in this post Enron and Tyco world,it is somewhat alarming that a PUBLICLY TRADED COMPANY, would issue a company press release knowingly making false statements.

2. "Featuring hot, new artists like...Green Day" Green Day? Who ever wrote this is a little out of touch with contemporary music.

3. "After extensive research". It took five seconds to find out the web site for Coast93.1 was registered just four or five days after the fall ratings came out.

I realize that press releases are all about spin and positioning, but why paint a bad picture for yourself with statements that are inaccurate or outdated?

riddle me this, OP1: what is it you do for a living? more importantly, do you own the joint?

if so, then it's a question you are more ready to answer than i, a simple working grunt. and as to where i work or what i do - i'm clueless, too.

funny you seem to think that i'm not only with Saga, but that i have something to do with actual decision making.
