I don't know if this is the right place to post.....I am going to Erie, Pa via Buffalo and was wondering what is happening on the radio dial along I90 from Buffalo to Erie? It has been 7 years since I have been down that way.Adam

#1, I'm mildly stunned that I could log in under my original name. #2, to answer your question, if you are a true radio afficianado, you should use scan to get the quick take on what's available. The drive along the lake from Buffalo to Erie and back, offers plenty of signals from the US and Canada on AM and FM.Suggest stop at one of the rest stops to take some inventory. The high ground after you cross into Chatauqua county affords some great reception. The Canadian signals worth checking: 91.7; 97.1; 97.7; 98.1; 99.9; 102.1; 104.5; 107.1The US signals: 92.9 (briefly); 93.7; 96.1; 96.9; 98.5; 102.5; 103.3; 104.1; 106.5 and 107.7Do us a favor a post your impressions after your drive.

What's 97.1?

I went to Erie Pa on Sat and found that I got lots of stations from Canada/US just a little north of Erie on i-90....I was able to get stuff from London, Kitchener, Hamilton, St. Catherines and even Toronto plus Buffalo. Once we get over the NY border going back and south of Buffalo on the way to Erie...there is not too much. I did notice some overlapping with Erie and Buffalo near the ny/pa border..for example....102.3 from Erie and 102.5 from BuffaloWhat other places offer really good reception besides the Buffalo to Erie trip? What kind of stations can be picked up from Erie to Cleveland which are distant?

Well, since you asked,Star 97.1(WREO/Ashtabula)has a VERY good reach from Erie all the way down to the eastern suburbs of Cleveland;I managed to get a legal ID of Star when I was in Cleveland years ago.

95.9 out of london ontario is the strongest station along that drive.. I can ussualy start picking it up in Angola and can pick it up all the way to Cedar point in Sandusky Ohio.... As for The Buffalo stations in Erie on a clear day i can pick up loud and clear 92.9 jack, 96.9 97 rock, Kiss 98.5 ( which ive picked up as far as Ashtabula Ohio) and 103.3 The Edge ,which starts fading out just past I-79..102.5 gets blasted out at the I-86 interchange by 102 Zoo out of Astabula ( but oddly enough i have picked up TSS loud and clear in Meadville PA despite DVE out of Pittsburgh) But the most interesting pick ups are the Toronto stations.. I can pick up 95.3, 97.7 hitz FM, cfny 102.1 The Edge and 107.1 Q107 and many more canadian stations on top of that..As for cleveland and pittsburgh stations they are almost non exsistent reception wise in the Erie area...However, as I stated in a much earlier post, one night in Pittsburgh there 107.1 was down and they were picking up Q107 out of Toronto loud and clear...The pick up reception wise that surprised me most was Kiss 98.5 going quite a ways into Ohio despite WNCX out of Cleveland..After Ashtabula the signals duke it out for quite a ways...... The stations out of Erie that have the most thrust would be WRKT Rocket 101, 100.9 and the biggest Star 104 103.7 .. the later of the two i can remember picking up on the 33 in downtown Buffalo and have heard it all the way to downtown Pittsburgh on I-79... Oh I should say I forgot to mention 93.7 WBLK and 104.1 WHTT can come in pretty strong in erie to..
