Ernie Boch Commercial on NBC Connecticut?

Boch Automotive owns the distributorship of Subarus in New England. If NBC 30 runs Subaru of New England ads they may be running Ernie's special Holiday Greetings as an added value or as a "kiss-up" for renewal. CSN New England is also running these spots. They are bizarre looking as they aren't tagged for Subaru of New England or any of the Boch dealerships.

Auto dealers sell to adjacent markets all the time.
Same with furniture dealers.

What would Bob ('s Discount Furniture) Kaufman say about that one? ;)

Boch (and his father) have been saying it much longer, at least in the Boston market. I'm not sure how long Bob's Discount Furniture has been around CT.

Well, thank you for this thread! Up here in the Bangor market, I've seen this commercial a couple of times and I have NO idea who this guy is! And I'd like to think I may be as smart and in the know as at least the average bear. But now that I've read this thread I do recognize the name from ads in the "Boston Herald". This animated ad had me scratching my head and wondering who the heck this guy was and why is advertising?

Animated? Do you mean Bob and his furniture stores? His first store opened in Newington, CT back in 1990 (about 2 miles north of his current Newington store). I know he has a location in South Portland and I once saw one of his yellow delivery trucks on a side street in Portland. How are you seeing his ads in Bangor? Via the WCSH/WLBZ news simulcasts from Portland?

Clearly a mock-up of the Boston skyline when you look below. I still don't see why this ad would run outside of Massachusetts though?

OK, this is really getting creepy. I just saw it used as an underwriting message on WGBH. And Ernie had a Christmas spot for Boch Toyota where he and his band (Ernie and the Automatics - the band performs around Boston) are elves helping out Santa. That ran on WBZ on Christmas Eve.
