I'm ransacking my favorite childhood memories of TV --- I always thought Ernie Kovacs was amazing, and today, I wonder if Laugh-In, Saturday Night Live or the Late Show with David Letterman would ever have emerged without him blazing the trail.
I have a feeling if he'd lived beyond 1962, he'd have come to dominate TV comedy in the late 60s, 70s and 80s. We missed a lot when we lost him.
