ERP v. Antenna array

An ERP of 50kw, an array of 12 cp Jampros, 100 meter tower... What might be a transmitter output power?

Depending on the transmission line, probably something in the neighborhood of 8kw.

12 cp bays spaced one wavelength will give a gain of a bit over 6. figure 6 and the rest is equivalent to the line loss. 100/6 = 16,700 Watts TPO for 100KW ERP. Look on the Continental Electronics web site for the 'eslide' programs, and you can plu in the values to compute the power more exactly.

True, but the ERP is only 50 kW in this case, so tx output power will be half of ~16.7 kW.

The link below leads to a more detailed system calculation for a frequency of 98.1 MHz, showing a TPO of about 8.64 kW.

I misssed the ERP, I'm used to Class C . But yeah , 8 and a half, bit over should make 50 ERP H & V.
