Errick Kasilius Leaving ESPN

Just heard the news today. He's one of the only fill in hosts I like there. He'll be in for Mike and Mike next week and then done.

I guess no one at espn radio is now allowed to ever take a vacation again.

Do Mike and Mike still have an absurd amount of vacation time every year? Talk about double standards. ::)

No, no. I was making a joke. Kuselias was on ALL THE TIME, because whenever ANYONE went on vacation, Erik would fill in. You could count on him hosting every shift on the network during the months of December, February, and July.

Re: Erik Kuselias Leaving ESPN

the kuselias move to the golf channel is a surprise... a surprise that he could land any gig after all the information that leaked out of deadspin this year. not shocking that team disney didn't renew his contract.

off-the-air stuff aside, his radio work was awful - rushed & smarmy. he never strayed far from his legal background. it made him sound like a slick skirt-chasing lawyer at a sports bar. his "shucks, just me having a diet coke with my brothers talking sports" schtick was insulting and condescending. once his show got dumped during the week, his remaining time spent being a chameleon or fill-in was just plain bad. hey i'm "mike greenberg-lite" one minute, then "just a michigan football fan & nascar honk" the next was weird and smelled of espn just trying to find a place for him. finally being billed as a "fantasy analyst" was the last straw. are you kidding me?

to be somewhat fair, he prepped well and was always informed.

the best part was always trying to hear him in an unscripted moment. jay mohr and ek at the super bowl years ago was magic.

bye erik. you won't be missed.

p.s. i apologize. my last post was too harsh and negative.  :(

i'm simply not a fan of erik's on-air style. i should have left it at that.

in general, i'm frustrated with the current state and product out of espn radio.

Don't worry... FSR (a la SuperStation KLAC) is even worse.
