Eskin To Get Co-Host?

I like the contest element of the show (Eskin makes it ammusing) .I really like Rob E but I don't want the two to be permanent partners...put Rob with Ike Reese who is in need of a partner and someone who actually knows and understands baseball and hockey...Eskin may be arrogant but he breaks many stories and is very informative...leave hi m by himself!!!
I love Eskin ...just please stop acting like the Eagles front office and head coach are perfect and never wrong!!! Does he really believe what he says?

WIP has a 3.4 full week and WPEN has a 1.1 full week. For WPEN to beat WIP 25-54 in afternoon drive despite this, it must mean one of two things. WIP's audience is really old, and/or WPEN's ratings are absolutely terrible in the other dayparts.

In an apparent follow-up article, columnist John Gonzalez - after futile attempts to contact WIP VP/GM Marc Rayfield as to whether or not Howard Eskin will be getting a co-host - eventually found out from Eskin himself that the possibility exists:

Not only did Eskin confirm that WIP has discussed adding Clark to his show, but he said he broached the idea to station management about three months ago. Maybe Rayfield was on vacation or in the bathroom that day.

Meanwhile, today, Howard's scheduled co-host will be... his own son, Spike. He'll come over right after his WYSP airshift. Possibly an audition in the event "the rock you grew up with" gets blown up?

I suspect the later....Who can stand EPSN radio?? Mike and Mike are horrible and the show is way to scripted. Who is next...Some guy named Cowpie I think. Then Jody Mac....eh. At night...hell I can't get the station at night in Chester County.

I admit I like Miss. Hate WIP. But I can only listen to Mike Miss. Would like to hear Bruno...

Reason for Eskin rotating co-hosts

Perhaps this is the reason for Howard Eskin's rotating co-hosts on WIP:

DCRTV and the Washington Post have reported that CBS is getting ready to flip former Free FM guy-talker WJFK-FM in Washington, DC, to sports talk in July.

CBS' formula for launching these new sports talk stations is to have pairs of hosts during the daytime.

What better way to audition someone to co-host a sports talk show than to have the person actually do it on one of your sports talk properties?

Having said that: What does it mean for WYSP that Spike was one getting a potential try-out?

I guess I'm an oddball (maybe just by being a female sports fan) but I much prefer ESPN radio. In the morning, Mike and Mike actually talk SPORTS on sports radio!
Once in a while in the afternoon during a commercial, I flip over to WIP to see if maybe Eskin is on vacation (which does not happen often enough) and someone else is on in his place. So I've heard a few of those co-hosts and they have been terrible. Eskin is obnoxious and nearly unbearable but at least not as boring as those guys.
